After several months of tweaking, I finally launched my company’s new website design this morning.
I am working with my web guy on speeding up the load time, but overall I am very happy with the outcome. Stop by and take a look sometime. I would be interested in hearing your feedback: http://www.austintexashomes.com.
Below is a screenshot that I just took a few minutes ago. The header image shown in this shot is a view of Lake Austin looking down from Mount Bonnell. There are two other images that I purchased from www.istockphoto.com that will randomly rotate there – one of the downtown Austin skyline, and one of the beautiful 360 bridge, which is a local west Austin landmark.
Someone asked me recently about whether we should require users to register in order to search our local MLS listings. We had experimented with having no form in the past, and we didn’t get many leads. With the form, we get millions of dollars in sales annually. Of course, our traffic is relatively strong, so that certainly is part of the puzzle.
If you have super-negative comments, please refrain from telling me, since this has been a pet project of mine since late 2007. Our last website design was simply too dated and amateur-looking for my taste, and I hope this new, fresh look will attract more clients. Time will tell…
Thanks for taking time to check it out!
